Job Description

The Seventh-day Adventist Church (SPD) Limited is seeking a highly motivated undergraduate student to join our Treasury team in this internship. This role is part of a 24-month maximum term internship based at the Division head office in Wahroonga NSW. It is part-time of up to 16 hours or 2 days per week, and would suite someone looking to gain practical experience to accounting theory within a Church context. 

Reporting directly to the Division Senior Accountant, with indirect report to the accountants and assistant accountants, this role requires someone with a passion for accounting and commitment to the long-term mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. 
 

Desired Skills and Experience

Selection Criteria: 
•    Practising baptised member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a strong commitment to the teachings, values, beliefs and mission of the Church.
•    Penultimate year or half-way of completing a tertiary undergraduate degree in accounting, business or commerce.
•    Satisfactory completion of introductory accounting courses and basic understanding of accounting and financial principles. 
•    Aptitude for math, and proficiency with computers and software. 
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills.
•    High level of efficiency, accuracy and work ethic. 
•    Self-motivated with a strong desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible. 
•    Basic understanding of Australian accounting standards and related laws. 
•    Must show evidence of current Australian unrestricted work rights.
