The South Pacific Division (SPD) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church is seeking a motivated Administrative Assistant to join our Adventist Technology (AdTec) team in Wahroonga, NSW. This part-time role (24 hours per week) offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to mission-focused projects and work alongside a supportive, faith-driven team.

The South Pacific Division (SPD) serves as the administrative hub for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific islands. Our mission is to inspire people to follow Jesus, share His message, and live out His teachings in all aspects of life.

AdTec is SPD’s technology team, delivering vital services to church entities across the region. From infrastructure and managed services to customised software solutions, AdTec plays a key role in supporting church administration, finance, education, and aged care systems. We also prioritise robust information security to ensure the smooth operation of ministries across the South Pacific.

The Role

As an IT Administrative Assistant, you will be an essential part of the AdTec team, helping ensure smooth operations by providing administrative support. Reporting to the Director of Technology Operations and Strategy, you'll assist with scheduling, meeting coordination, event logistics, internal communication, and more. Your role will also serve as the first point of contact for non-technical enquiries, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support, including scheduling, document processing, and meeting coordination.
  • Handle non-technical enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Assist with planning and logistics for events, projects, and team activities.
  • Contribute to internal communication, reporting, and presentation preparation.
  • Maintain accurate records and uphold high standards of customer service.

Desired Skills and Experience

Essential 

  • Practising, baptised member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, with a strong commitment to its mission.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an administrative support role, ideally in a technology-focused environment.
  • Relevant qualifications in office administration or secretarial work.
  • High initiative and self-motivation with a team-oriented mindset.
  • Strong communication, multitasking, and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a basic understanding of IT systems.
  • A customer-focused, proactive, and service-oriented approach.

Preferred 

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Experience preparing reports and presentations.
  • Knowledge of the Seventh-day Adventist Church structure in the South Pacific Division.
  • Cross-cultural communication experience.
